Lee County Golf Cart Registration

Street legal LSV registration for golf carts in Lee County: filing, VIN, title, tag and registration, handled end to end. You never set foot in a DMV office.

Golf carts in Lee County

Lee County has one of the highest concentrations of working golf carts on the Gulf coast, and most of them live within a few miles of the water. Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel are the clearest examples: narrow roads, low speed limits, difficult parking, and a resident population that would rather take a cart to the beach or the store than move a car. That combination produces exactly the kind of trip an LSV is built for.

Lee County also has an unusually high share of carts that were assembled or heavily modified locally - lifted, re-motored, re-bodied, sometimes with a mix of parts from three manufacturers. Those carts can absolutely be registered, but they need a careful look before anything is filed, because the equipment list and the ownership trail are both less predictable than on a factory unit. That review is the part of our service that saves the most time.

Where an LSV can be driven here

Once registered as a Low Speed Vehicle, your cart is street legal on Florida roads posted at 35 mph or less - the island and residential grids in most of coastal Lee County. The higher-speed connectors to the mainland are outside that limit, and local crossings are governed by rules the municipality sets.

Local rules worth knowing

Lee County's cart use runs along the barrier islands and the beach communities, where posted limits are low and the distances are short. Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel and Bonita Springs each handle cart operation differently, and post-storm rebuilding has changed local traffic patterns in several of these areas. Confirm current rules with the municipality.
